Just next door is Ho Chi Minh's house on stilts where he used to live in the past. Lying to one side of the Mausoleum is the One Pillar Pagoda, built by King Ly Thai To in 1049 the structure has become an important symbol for the people of Hanoi. Continue to visit the Literature Temple and Quoc Tu Giam - Vietnam's first University constructed in 1070. Its gardens and well-preserved architecture offer a relaxing glimpse into Vietnam’s past. 07:30 - 8:30 Meet our tour guide and bus then take a 3.5-hour bus drive through fertile rice fields to Ha Long Bay. Have a break en-route in Hai Duong City to free your legs.
12:30 Board our Dragon Cruise and start cruising among limestone islands and photograph of stunning landscapes of Ha Long.
13:00 Savor your lunch on board while passing by beautiful Stone Dog, Incense Burner islets.
14:00 Stop at a fishing village to see local fish-men community and know more about their life. Cruising further to take photos of Ha Long Bay symbol, a “Fighting cock” rock.
15:00 Visit Thien Cung “Heavenly Palace” cave, the most beautiful in Ha Long Bay. Get back and cruise more around emerald water.
16:15 Stop at the harbor again to catch the bus to Hanoi.
20:00 Arrive back in Hanoi. Tour ends.
KAYAKING RIDE (optional): Pay extra cost per person if you wish to use this service. The best way to explore true beauty of Ha Long is riding kayak around the fishing village, get in touch with local people and going through the “tunnel caves” to wonderful a secluded lake. Return to Ha Noi. Overnight at the proposed hotel.
Your guide and driver will meet you at 8:30am. You will then embark on a journey south of about 100 kilometres to Hoa Lu, the ancient capital of the Dinh and Le dynasties dating back to the 11th century. Having been eroded over the millennia, the dilapidated ruins have nearly been absorbed by the spectacular scenery creating a mystical atmosphere that will be sure to titillate your imagination.
After lunch in a local restaurant you will continue to nearby Trang An, a UNESCO World Heritage site known for its outstanding natural beauty and the scenic karst formations which contribute to its reputation as being the “Halong Bay on land.” Board a small boat and meander lazily down the peaceful river while passing through a series of caves. While enjoying the sounds of soaring birds overhead and paddling along the crystal-clear waters of the river, jagged limestone hills jutting skyward out of electric green rice paddies will be sure to bring out the photographer in you.
Finally, return to the pier, where your vehicle will be waiting for you, and arrive back in Hanoi in the late afternoon.
