This Hotel is a surprise in the big city of Saigon, or Ho chim Minh City (as you like)! Far from downtown, and at the same time near by water, it's the perfect place to visit Saigon! Staff very gentle! Food with very nice options! Rooms just need some more attention on the amenities.
Some Key Facts:
- Set on the banks of the Saigon River, a fifteen minute boat ride from the chaos of the city, this boutique property offers an altogether more tranquil and relaxing experience. After a busy day sightseeing what could be better than relaxing with a glass of wine at the riverside bistro?
- French Colonial in style, the 26 rooms and suites are elegantly furnished with dark woods and white linen. For a full view of the Saigon River book an Art Suite. It’s worth scheduling some R&R time into your itinerary simply to relax by the outdoor pool with a book or treat yourself to a massage.
If you’re spending some time in Ho Chi Minh City as part of a Vietnam itinerary (as you inevitably will), but aren’t inspired by city hotels, then Villa Song Saigon is for you.

– STUNNING BOUTIQUE VILLA
This is a beautiful hotel! It is off the beaten path in a more residential area (large expat community) and we couldn't have loved that more. Being on the water was great, especially in a city that can be very congested. The area has lots of great restaurants. (If you want a nice dinner out, we had a great time at La Villa. For something more casual, the Mad House was great.) The hotel itself is beautiful and well maintained. (The first floor is somewhat of a garden level, perfect if you don't want to take any stairs, but the ceilings in our room there were low. We asked and were very promptly and graciously moved to a room on a higher level, which required taking a couple flights of stairs but was much more spacious. It really depends on what you are looking for, but if stairs aren't an issue, I would highly recommend requesting a room not on the first floor.) Breakfast is superb and the front desk is always eager to help. (They made reservations for us, called many taxis that all showed up very quickly, and even made arrangements for us to have an extra early breakfast the morning of our departure.) As others have mentioned there are stairs and no lift, so I would request a certain floor if you have a preference. Finally, they charge a lot for to pre-book transportation to and from the airport. Since the prices were so steep, we chose not to use it. Instead, we booked a pick up with another company. From the airport, it might be worth it to have them pick you up; it's very busy and chaotic. Returning to the airport, however, I would just get a cab. We just had them call a cab (they always call only certain brands of taxi) and it was $15 to go back to the airport.
Location is a bit away from downtown but still accessible by short taxi rides. The upside is the area is quiet and relaxed. Nice to have a beer and a meal next to the river, soft breeze throughout the day. There are pretty good restaurants nearby but a bit more than walking distance.
Service was pretty good, no complaints. Food was pretty good for breakfast and dinner. The spa is very nice, well worth the cost.
There is a small but nice pool and fitness center. Jogging outside is popular but not much to see.
Rooms are just ok, has some charm but not very modern. The ground floor rooms are bigger but don't have a verandah.
– CHARMING, QUIET AND LAID BACK
The river is just beside the dinning area. The building, I feel there's a french romance in it. I found so many corners of it can make good seats. With some drinks and nice food, I had a perfect afternoon here!
