We stayed at this hotel for one night as part of our transfer to a Mekong Eyes cruise. Our room was modern and spacious with a great view and a fantastic shower. We had dinner at the hotel and both the breakfast and dinner were delicious with lots of choice, even for my husband who is vegetarian. All of the staff were very helpful, particularly the reception staff who helped us change some money and print off a ticket we had been emailed.
Victoria Chau Doc Hotel
Some Key Facts:
- The hotel's thoughtful design blends faultlessly with its surroundings, and you are guaranteed a fantastic backdrop to your stay, especially when dining on the poolside terrace, which overlooks the river. Even the spa, located on the hotel's rooftop terrace, has superb panoramic views.
- All guestrooms are well sized, bright with natural light, and feature dark woods combined with comfortable Colonial-era style furnishings. As with all Victoria properties, the facilities are of a high standard (you don't see many swimming pools in these parts!) and the service is faultless.
Located on the banks of the Bassac River, close to Vietnam's border with Cambodia, the Victoria Chau Doc Hotel blends low-rise, Colonial style architecture with the natural beauty of the Bassac River. The Victoria Chau Doc Hotel features 92 wood floored rooms, including 4 suites, most offering spectacular views of the river. Each room combines the elegance of traditional Vietnamese handicrafts and colonial old world charm.

– “Luxurious hotel with great staff and fab food”
We had a brief but comfortable stay at the Victoria Chau Doc Hotel. It has similar decor to another Victoria we stayed at although I think this one is a little older. It has a really nice feel to it and the rooms are a good size. We enjoyed nice meals and excellent service in the dining room as well as a nice breakfast. All the staff were very helpful. We didn't spend much time outside because we arrived late afternoon and departed by speedboat early next morning. The trip up the river from here was a pleasant change from travelling on buses and planes.
– “A very nice stay”
The Victoria Chau Doc Hotel is a gem. It location makes the most of river frontage and my advice is to splurge and get a room with a river view. We were fortunate to be offered a room up grade to a room with river view and balcony and loved it.
Breakfast was delicious. The pool area overlooked the river and was a great place to relax.
The staff were very friendly, helpful and spoke English.
The hotel is located near the central market and provides boat access to Cambodia.
– “A piece of heaven ”
We had a lovely room that looked out on to the Bassac River at the Three River Crossing. This charming hotel is very elegant. We spent a delightful afternoon at the pool looking out onto the water. We had an excellent supper in the hotel restaurant. Service was excellent. The breakfast was excellent and with a nice variety of food to choose from. You can take a speed boat to Cambodia that leaves right from the pier at the hotel. The speed boat is comfortable and it is an easy way to get to Cambodia.
– “A lovely place to stay and highly recommended”
After reading comments we upgraded from a Superior Room to a Superior Room with River View this was amazing! Staff were excellent we ate in the restaurant couldn't fault the food or service. Breakfast was to die for something for everyone! We took a late night swim pool didn't close until 10pm had a night cap then showered all refreshed from our 6 hour journey from Phnom Penn. Great hotel.
