  • La Residence Hue Hotel & Spa

    Some Key Facts:

    • Set in wonderful gardens, this stunning property has many boutique touches, backed up with truly deluxe facilities. Recently integrated into the Accor Group's prestigious MGallery collection of unique hotels, La Residence was also honoured as one of Asia’s top 20 resorts in the Conde Nast Traveller Readers’s Choice Awards 2011.
    • Formerly the official residence of the Governor of Vietnam, its rooms retain many original features, and great care was taken, when two wings were recently added, to ensure the hotel's unique style stayed uncompromised. Rooms are well sized, furnished with luxurious fabrics and Colonial touches thoughtfully deployed throughout. We're happy to report that La Residence looks as gorgeous as ever.

Nestled on the banks of the Perfume River, this graceful Art Deco building La Residence Hue has uninterrupted views of Hue's Imperial Citadel, just across the water.

Have stayed here twice and highly recommend to anyone visiting Hue. Excellent staff and service. Restaurant and bar are both outstanding. Perfect location. Hotel decor and amenities are first rate. Looking forward to my next visit.

“Beautiful hotel with an excellent service staff.”

Beautiful Art Deco building with many original features but all the mod cons. Food excellent as were the staff. Duty manager showed us to our room having given us some info about the town of Hue and some places to visit - a nice touch. My daughter set the toaster on fire by trying to heat up her croissant. The waitress dealt with it without any fuss and then had a croissant heated for her in the kitchen - that's what I call exceptional service.

    “All round excellent ”

Really beautiful hotel along perfume river. Service amazing. Bar staff were really interested in our travels and proud of their city. Perfect location, can walk to citadel in around 30 mins but taxi easy enough and a bargain. Pool area was a welcomed relaxation area.

    “Beautiful hotel ”

The hotel was once the residence of the French Governor and many of the original art deco features have been retained. The hotel is now part of the Mgallery group of hotels.
Some of the rooms overlook the perfume river and have large balconies complete with steamer style loungers.
The swimming pool is wonderful and we often had it to ourselves during the day as most guests stay only one or two nights and are out most of the time sightseeing. The breakfast buffet is good with a selection of both asian and western food.
My only criticism of the hotel would be the extortionate price of the drinks at the bar and the pool bar. There was however a happy hour (4-7pm) when the drinks were half price, but not much use if you want a gin and tonic to quench your thirst whilst relaxing by the pool. Saying that it was our 2nd time in the hotel and we did have a lovely stay, and, yes we would stay at the hotel again if we return to Hue.

    “Art deco style”

Lovely hotel, very professional staff, rooms beautiful (we went for River side superiors), great pool which never felt too crowded. Food expensive but very good. Seemed very gluten aware, had lovely fresh bread on the first morning, then, due to some problem with their supplier, had to have freshly cooked rice flour pancakes on the second morning, then some very dry gluten free bread on the third morning. General Manager very courteous and solicitous.

    “Oasis of calm”
