I found the Hotel de L'Opera (MGallery) to be an excellent place to stay on a recent business trip to Hanoi. My room was large and well equipped and, most importantly, had a very efficient and quiet air conditioning system. My room had a good sized bathroom supplied with everything you could need, TV, tea/coffee making facilities, an enormous bed, desk, fridge, safe, ample cupboard and drawer space. The hotel also has a small swimming pool, sun lounge and fitness room. I can also highly recommend the meals in its restaurant (Cafe L'Autrec) - go for the local (Vietnamese menu). Excellent choice of food for breakfast. Hotel staff were polite, helpful and friendly. The hotel's location is also great as you are right in the throng of the old city with plenty to see and do within a short walk. There is a bank right opposite the hotel and it is a short walk to Hoan Kiem Lake, the Catholic cathedral and the Red river (the railway station is a 15 minute walk away). It ticks all the boxes.

– EXCELLENT BASE FOR BUSINESS IN HANOI
I've stayed a numerous places in Hanoi, and many get several things right, but this property gets them all right. The room was clean, classy, and comfortable. The location is convenient and vibrant....just a stone's throw from the Opera House and Hoan Kiem lake. The staff is cheerful and helpful (especially Mr. Thang at the concierge desk), and the restaurant has some excellent choices. The Fettucine Mediterranean is superb, and the truffle potato wedges were a treat. I will definitely be back during my frequent visits to the area.
– FRESH AND NEW
The staff at this Hotel are charming and excellent. We received a very warm welcome and service with a smile. Breakfast was excellent and so was the bar service. Comfortable beds. We stayed twice in four days in two different rooms because we had a two day trip to Ha Long Bay in between. A good location to get to the many nearby sites easily on foot. We had a "temporarily" lost suitcase at the Airport on arrival and reception/concierge staff were brilliant at getting it back to us that evening. Thoroughly recommend and would definitely return. Thanks again to all the staff for their smiling and shining service.
