    • Cassia Cottage is 10-minute drive from Phu Quoc airport, which is a 50-minute domestic flight from Ho Chi Minh City and a 2 hour, 10-minute domestic flight from Hanoi. It is a 15-minute walk to Duong Dong Town’s night market.
    • All cottages provide privacy and air conditioning. Each has its own kettle with tea set, minibar and safe. Private bathroom includes a shower.
    • Relax with a massage on the beach or browse through the mini library’s collection of books. The international reception team can arrange tours to all major points on Phu Quoc. Airport transfers are available at an extra cost.
    • International and Vietnamese meals are served at the beach side Spice House Restaurant. Enjoy happy hour between 16:00-17:00 with a free cocktail served by the pool. A buffet breakfast with international and Vietnamese dishes is available.

Simple and stylish - what the Cassia Cottage does it does well. The beachside resort has 48 villas and bungalows all located close to the north end of Long Beach, Phu Quoc’s most popular stretch of sand.

Whilst amenities are undoubtedly minimal (there are no TVs in the rooms), each guest room is spacious and airy, most with a garden view with just a few offering a sea view. The restaurant, terrace and main swimming pool are paces from the beach, with laid back gardens complete with hammocks lying in between. In addition there is a family pool and new infinity pool. The Cassia Cottage is within easy reach of a number of beachside restaurants and bars, and the nightlife of Doung Dong is just a short cab or bike ride to the north.

When you book a hotel online, you are never quite sure what your accommodations will really be like until you get there. Turning off the main road in Phu Quoc, I started getting a bit nervous as it's a bit rough even by Vietnamese standards. However, I was more than a little surprised when we pulled into the Cassia Cottage. The reception desk is outside where we were met by a smiling face and offered glasses of hibiscus tea (very good tea I might add).

Our bags disappeared while we were treated to a tour of the grounds. Our room was outstanding and the personal touch wishing us a happy honeymoon was very much appreciated. The room is large and has everything you might need. The privacy was welcome and we really had the sense that we were the only ones there.

Wandering around the resort we found visual treats around every corner. With 3 pools you never have to worry about being crowded. The one we enjoyed the most would be a great one for the kids to enjoy.

Breakfast in the mornings was always a treat. The food was good and the service was even better. What impressed me the most was the smiles and friendly greetings of the staff. They truly seemed to enjoy having us there.

If you are looking for a place to just get away and relax, I think you would be hard pressed to find a nicer place. Phu Quoc has plenty of places to go and explore. We went in August 2016 which is the slow season but the heat wasn't bad, about the same as South Florida for the same time of year. Be sure to go take a swim at South Beach and relax there for a bit.

Room Tip: The rooms with a balcony overlooking the ocean are wonderful, but the rooms with a garden room looke...

“A wonderful place to escape to if you want to relax and unwind”

In addition to the fact that the food was quite possibly the best tasting hotel food that I've ever had, something that makes this place stand out is how personal the overall atmosphere is.

The staff were incredibly kind, inviting, and all seemed to genuinely enjoy working there. I had my birthday during my visit, and they left out a big "Happy Birthday!" banner above the bed, and "Ms. Stella" spelled out with leaves on it-a small touch that warmed my heart and really speaks to the individual attention that they give to guests.

The grounds are very open and aesthetically unique. Many resorts run the risk of being a bubble in the sense that they can be generic and not really integrated into the location, which is something that, in my opinion, defeats the purpose of travelling anywhere special since you get a somewhat diluted experience. At Cassia Cottage, you can really tell that you're in Phu Quoc, and it isn't interchangeable with other hotels located there. It is also important to note that the beach area is considerably cleaner than it is when you walk further down into the areas by the other hotels. I personally strongly appreciated the (cute!) small animal statues scattered across.

    “Small details bring it together”

We stayed in the new part of Cassia Cottages and loved the accommodation. Large light room, we needed an extra bed (myself and adult daughter) so extra bed accommodated with no extra charge and still plenty of room. The bathroom was also spacious with an indoor and outdoor section. The gardens are lovely and the pool overlooked the beach. The restaurant had great food, a tad more expensive than some of the other beach front restaurants but we found the quality worth paying for. Happy hour cocktails around 4pm (free cocktail of the day) was a nice bonus! Staff very friendly and helpful. We were able to arrange an early check in and late check out, I guess this depends on their bookings though. Great beach front location and about a 20 minute walk to the night market. Would not hesitate to stay here again or recommend to friends.

    “Highly recommend ”

Just finished a great dinner here - 6 courses. I can highly recommend the Papaya salad and fried spring rolls to start. For main - prawn in coconut with brown rice was incredible! Great cocktails, Moorish chocolate cake ( I didn't want it to end) and engaging waitress. All produce is organic and we sampled their home grown spices (hence the name of the restaurant). Gorgeous setting (on the beach) and cool bar if you just want to enjoy a cocktail. I can imagine it having a great vibe when the islands busy but we visited in rainy season. I live in Sydney and paid a quarter of what I would at home. Check it out!

    “Fabulous dinner and service ”

It's enchanting! We stayed in the 2 room family cottage and loved it. The outdoor shower was AMAZING. Sleeping in 4 poster beds with mosquito netting set the mood of adventure and luxury. One of the pools was being renovated and the staff made sure we had a choice of rooms to compensate. We stayed 3 nights, but could have stayed forever!

“So glad we chose Cassia Cottage”
