This was booked as part of our package tour and was a real highlight. We boarded the junk about midday and were surprised that only the 9 of us in our group were on board. It was a mid-sized junk. We sailed out into the bay and were given our lunch - a seafood feast, beautifully cooked and presented. The trip to the bay was so quiet and smooth. The bay itself is like a refuge - quiet and eerie - and the limestone outcrops are spectacular. We visited a couple of attractions, such as the AMAZING CAVE, and then came back to settle in for the night. First we had dinner - again another beautifully presented and tasty meal, mainly of seafood. After that we went up on the sundeck and watched the lights and absorbed the peace of the area. The cabins were quite small but they had their own toilet and shower. In the morning we had a small snack before visiting the lagoon and saw the monkeys. After that, we came back for a more substantial brunch as we sailed back to shore. It was an experience not to miss!

    “A wonderful experience”

We were in Bai Tho Junk for one night. The cabins are extremely small and the bathroom is so tiny, you have to stand around the WC for your shower. That being said, everything else was very nice. We hardly spent any time in the room. The deck is lovely for unwinding while watching the sunset. The service is good. Food was ok. They kept us busy with lot of activities & Halong Bay is so beautiful.. worth it.

    “Great Service, Small Cabins”

Halong Bay was much bigger than expected - it goes on for miles! The trip was great with the continual changing of the scenery , peace and lovely time to relax on deck. The food was really good and the service likewise. The short trips we took to visit caves , fishing villages and the beach were just fine. I´d repeat with these people.

“great boats , food and place”

From the moment we were collected in Hanoi it was plain sailing. The trip down in the mini bus was good and then from the moment the staff take care of you at Halong Bay you are looked after. Quan was our guide and dealt with all queries. He was fabulous and made the trip such fun.
Cabins are lovely, we were in a twinned bedded room with a full size bathroom. The style is 1930's glamour which I loved.
The food is excellent, the only problem being is that there is too much. After lunch the trip to the cave is nice and enables you to burn off a few calories. The steps are steep so I would not advise anyone with mobility issues to attempt it. The chance to swim in the sea is great but be prepared for how cold the water is.
On the second day we went on the optional trip to the floating village, very peaceful and relaxing for us if not for the lady rowing.
Staff were great, attentive and professional.
I would thoroughly recommend this experience, the one thing that would have helped me was a hairdryer in the room.

    “Wonderful experience ”

Some comments about the Victory Star are inappropriate. I can understand than cabin 117 is noisy but it's not just because is noisy... it's more because it's the very cheap cabine.
it's like every where in this planet and every company, if you want the more cheap with the maximum of comfort, don't dream... it 's impossible, you need to pay more for better comfort and paying more it's not excessive... but if you are mingy... don 't complain.

For the other woman not satisfied because she cannot drink free green tea (the Vietnamese green tea for the crew... the cheapest product than Lipton) and because she has French food on the menu, please ... don't complain.... more people would like to eat French food (knowing for his high quality on the world) and will prefer Lipton than the cheapest green tea...

Don't understand why some people are so naive or churl while they have all informations they need before to book ? if you are not agree with the company, you have others companies, no need to complain for something you know yet.

“Be careful about some subjectives comments”
