Three of us recently spent two nights on the Jasmine and thoroughly enjoyed it. Two of us shared a room and it was comfortable, clean and had everything we needed. The scenery was stunning; the room lovely and staff were awesome. The dining experiences on the boat were great - nice food and again, the service exemplary. The staff are really nice and make the experience a positive one. On our second day, we transferred to a smaller boat where the service was also incredible and we had an awesome day, later returning to the Jasmine. I would highly recommend the cruise. Both one night or two will allow you to see heaps.

    “2-day Cruise”

The Jasmine was sheer gracious elegance at sea in amongst one of the most spectacular sights in the world. The decor, the roomy cabins (with balcony), the food and the attentive staff were all exceptional. The one downer is that the activities 'off the boat' mean that you're herded with thousands of other tourists to the same place at the same time. The operators need to stagger times or sort out other options. It cheapens the experience.

    “An absolute highlight! ”

This was a most relaxing and pleasant cruise - quite a colonial feel to it. In fact, we felt like if Hercule Poirot was going to appear any second now...

The wooden cruise ship is really wonderful, unlike anything we have ever traveled on. Rooms are pleasant enough - they are small and in need to refurbishment, but comfortable enough and their small balcony is really a plus!

What really stand out, though, is the service (the staff are really amazing) and the superb food. Plus standing on deck and just looking at the islands and rocks go by, either at night or during the day, was simply magical. Like if time had stood still for us.

Highly recommended - we wished we had taken a two-day cruise rather than a one-day one...

    “What a wonderful, magical experience...”

From the moment we arrived at the office, awaiting our departure, to the point of disembarking, this cruise was absolutely amasing.

There were in our case as many staff as guests, but they managed to look after us without it feeling too in your face. The staff were all very friendly and incredibly professional. The food and service was outstanding, buffet beautifully laid out and in the evening the barbeque on the deck was delicious.

I have read that people considered the drinks expensive, which I would say by Vietnamese street standards is very true, but saying that to have someone get the drinks, chill them and serve them to you in a breathtaking surrounding all for a price of less than you would pay in and UK city to me is fair enough. Just to give you an example a 330ml can of Hanoi beer 68,000VND which at the time of the trip was just over two quid!

The whole three day, two night trip ran like clockwork, aided greatly by the warm and super friendly staff, I am useless with names, but a special mention should go to Che and Tam, I hope I have this right as they were just superb. I have attached just a couple of taster images as you need to see the rest and make your own memories.

“Words fail me as to how good this was!”

I researched a bit and found Jasmine to be consistently good reviews so we chose Jasmine.
The 4 hour trip is a bit much and if I could do it again I would visit Sapa straight after Halong for a few days. We paid for the transfer return but and we stopped twice on the way up at a tourist trap factory with overpriced items,no problem as we needed a toilet stop but the pearl farm wasn't necessary.Should be optional,I would of saved the time elsewhere.
The Jasmine is a beautiful boat/ship and the staff were all extremely friendly and the food was amazing,5 course lunch and dinner,so much food.
We only had a small group on our sailing so it was a quiet cruise but very enjoyable.I wish we could of done 2 nights as it was very rushed after all that travel each way.
The price of alcohol was way overpriced but that is usual with anything 5 star.
The fishing village was great, the cave is a cave but worth a look, the Tip Top Island is worth the 423 steps for that amazing view, but all so rushed,2 nights would be perfect if you can manage the time.
Halong Bay takes your breathe away and is worthy of the 7 wonders status. A must do trip when going to Thailand..
